Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress is well known for her work in film and television in the latter half of the 1980s. Bassett has been awarded a variety of awards, such as the Golden Globe Award and sixteen NAACP Image Awards. in the television and film business, she is famous for her awards and nominations. Bassett is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was brought up in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt following her birth in New York New York, is a well-known actress. Bassett's mother had split from her father at about five. Her younger sister went to St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett, while in high-school, saw John Steinbeck's production Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she made the decision to pursue acting. Following her graduation at Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980 with an undergraduate degree in African American Studies, she went on to earn an MA (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. At Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. graduated from the Yale School of Drama School with a master's degree of African American studies in the year 1980.
